Lindsey, Hugh F. ?age 81, of South Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Baptist Hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Retired insurance agent from Life of Georgia with over 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Republican Party and was a loyal and avid fan of UT Sports. Member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and previous owner of Time Out Deli in Fountain City. Preceded in death by wife, Laura Jean Lindsey; parents, Joe C. and Aileen Lindsey Sloane. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Mary Lindsey; granddaughters, Alyssa and Jordyn Lindsey; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Gene Rivenbark of Wallace, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Benna Chapman; nieces, Beth Rivenbark and Cathy Love; nephews, Steve, Ray, Ronnie, Jody and Ernie Proffitt. Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, Berry Chapel, Rev. David Webster and Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Highland South Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy McCulley, Dick Kennedy, Wayne Norton, Rick Hill, Sr., Charlie Severance and Frank Nichols. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37909. The family will receive friends from 10AM-12 Noon Saturday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
