Services for Mr. Herbert C. Carter will be held, December 14, 2006, at 08:00 PM at the following locations: Highland Memorial Chapel 5315 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919 (865) 588-0567 Carter, Herbert C. - age 77 of Knoxville, passed away at 8 p.m. December 12, 2006 at U.T. Medical Center. He was of the Methodist Faith. Preceded in death by mother, Hester Myers; father, Tom Carter; brother, Thurman Carter. He was retired from American Bakeries and Teamster's Local #519. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves. Survivors: wife, Teresa Carter; step-daughter, Connie Jackson of Knoxville; step-grandson, Gregory and wife Renee Jackson and Marce, of Arizona; nephew, Darrell Carter and several other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the faculty and nurses Kim, Christy, Jackie, Pat and Tanya and all others for the great love and care shown at the Dialysis Center on Martin Mill Pike. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Chapel, with the funeral to follow at 8 p.m. Family and friends will meet at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Lyons View Pike for a 1:30 p.m. committal service. The Volunteer State Honor Guard will provide full military honors.
