Ben Dennis Long

Long, Ben Dennis, age 82, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2005, at Morning View Transitional Care Center. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and retired from U.T. Medical Center after many years of dedicated service. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army. After graduating from high school in Meigs County, he attended Maryville College. Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Phyllis Cooper Long; parents, Ben and Estella Trew Long; brother, Larry Long; and sister, Elizabeth Evans. His son and daughter-in-law, David and Kim Long of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Phillip Smith of Powell; and grandchildren, Adam and Joshua Long and Noah and Abigail Smith. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Thursday at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Louisville, with Rev. Kenny Armstrong officiating. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM Friday for interment services. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Beech Grove Baptist Church.
