Verna E. Carpenter

Carpenter, Verna E. ?of Rockford, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at Asbury Place. Verna was a member of Clarks Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church for almost 40 years. Preceded in death by parents, Lifus and Annie Edwards and nephew, Richard Edwards. Survivors include husband of 50 years, Heyser Carpenter; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Garry Ivens; Lisa Anne and Richard Russell, all of Maryville; granddaughter, Maria Russell; grandsons, David and Joshua Ivens; brother, R.B. Edwards and wife, Lena of Burnsville, North Carolina; sister Bernice Edwards of Rockford; brother-in-law, Burlin Carpenter and wife, Cleo of Bryson City, North Carolina; special friends, Dot Crisp and Bea Underwood. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 PM on Sunday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral services to follow at 2:30 PM, Rev. J.C. Greenwell and Rev. Gale Keown officiating. Interment will follow at Highland South Memorial Park.
