Harold Lloyd Davenport

Davenport, Harold Lloyd - age 80, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Shannondale Healthcare. He was a lifetime member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and retired from Knoxville City Schools as a teacher and guidance counselor. After retirement, Lloyd and wife, Dot, traveled extensively as bus tour guides working for AAA Tours, Wilson Tours and Knoxville Tours. Preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Amanda Davenport; first wife, Betty Tallent Davenport; stepson, Charles Norton; brothers, Malcolm and Hubert Davenport; sisters, Thelma Hatfield and Madelyn Bowling. He is survived by loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Dot Davenport; stepdaughter, Linda (Ken) Dye; grandchildren, Kenny, Rick (Teresa) and Joe Laster; great-grandchildren, Blake and Miranda Laster; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7 PM on Sunday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Pat Polis officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday for 11 AM graveside services. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Sunday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
