Robert Clarkson

Clarkson, Robert Louis, age 76, departed to be with our Lord on November 14, 2005 after a long illness. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Body of Jesus Christ. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War with the 101st Airborne, and served with the National Guard. He retired from CSX Railroad. Preceded in death by parents, Rev. Lewis and Bessie Clarkson; sisters Florabel Clarkson, and Wilma Crawley; granddaughters, Angela and Alicia Clarkson. He leaves behind cherished memories with his loving wife of 48 years, Thelma Clarkson; children, Ike Clarkson of Chattanooga, Gary Clarkson, Randy Clarkson, Mike Clarkson, Cindy and Bob Mason all of the Knoxville area; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Virginia Clarkson; sister and brother-in-law Vivian and Frank Whitson; several nieces, nephews, large extended family and close friends. The family would like to express their great heartfelt gratitude to his physicians and the staff of Fort Sanders Hospital for their love and care for the last several weeks. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with funeral services to follow at 8:00 pm with Dr. Mark Grubb and Rev. Scott Kidd officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel at 12:30, Wednesday to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for 1:00 PM interment service. Pallbearers will be Gary Clarkson Jr., Lee Clarkson, Anthony Clarkson, Chris and Kurt Henderlight, Justin Long, and TJ Foshee. Full military honors will be presented by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard
