Ella Kate Broadwell Johnson

Johnson, Ella Kate Broadwell ?age 89, born November 29, 1915, of Union County, formerly of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2005. She was a member of South Knoxville Baptist Church for 50+ years where she was active in the senior adult activities. Kate was retired from Knoxville City Schools where she worked in the cafeteria at Beaumont Elementary School. Preceded in death by husband, Oscar Ray Johnson; father, James Clifton (Jim) Broadwell; mother, Amanda Catherine Selby Broadwell and brother, Clarence Selby Broadwell. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary Louise Johnson and Kenneth Hayes; son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Ray and Glenda Rinehart Johnson. Kate, lovingly known as Granny Kate, has seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Heartfelt gratitude to all employees of Roses Elderly Care of Luttrell, Tender Loving Care of Maynardville and Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Maynardville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday for 2 PM graveside services.
