Austin Tex McCarter, 62, of Sevierville, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005. Tex had been a police officer with Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevier County until 1984. He and his boys owned Tex and Sons’ Towing. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Austin and Zola (Ownby) McCarter, and his infant daughter Mintha Texanna. He will be missed by: Sons and daughter-in-law: Bobby and Lisa McCarter of Sevierville, Clint McCarter of Sevierville, and fiancĂ© Paula Hall of Hindman KY. Grandchildren: Shannon, Sierra, Cody, Jesse McCarter, and Keely Smith Running buddy and partner in crime: Doug Brennen Former wife: Diane McCarter And a county full of cousins and friends The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Kochert, and Sherri RN at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center, Dr. Victor Salter, Dr. Mike Ayers, Dr. Jeffery Baerman, Dr. Stephen Kiss, Dr. Scott Borreli, and the nurses and staff in NICU at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Pallbearers: Doug Brennen, Danny Wilson, Wayne Ownby, Bobby McCarter, Kenneth McCarter, and Clint McCarter. Funeral service 1 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Atchley funeral Home with Rev. Jim Maples officiating. Interment will follow in Proffitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
