L.A. “Gabby” Hayes, Sr., age 70 of Newport, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 1, 2005. Survivors: Wife: Geneva Hayes Children: Terry and Debbie Hayes, Donna Griffin, Debbie and Maurice Shults, Pete and Marsha Hayes Grandchildren: Brian and Jamie Hayes, Jennifer Knight, Joey and Steve Griffin, Angie Templin and husband Bill, Joshyua Shults Great-grandchildren: Tyler and Hannah Knight, Madilyn Griffin, Caleb Barnes Brothers: Liston and Tom Hayes Sister: Essie Brown Special family friend: Dorothy Walker Funeral service 2 PM Thursday at Parrottsville Memorial Church. Rev. Eddie Frazier and Rev. Jason Ellison officiating. The body will lie-in-state 1 hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow the service in Parrottsville Memorial Cemetery.
