Clay, Earnest Wayne, age 82, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Hillcrest South Nursing Home after suffering with Alzheimer?s and Parkinson?s Diseases. Member of Tipton Station Church of Christ. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Retired from Ford Motor Company. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Vera Clay; daughters: Linda Lewis and husband, Ernie; Tina Collins; Shirley Brown; Karen Shaffer and husband, Artie; Cheryl Clay; Nancy Clay; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Joe Clay and wife, Shirley of Missouri; sister, Sue Asbury of Ohio. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hillcrest South Nursing Home for their care and compassion. The family requests no flowers. Please make memorial donations to The Alzheimer?s Association PO Box 10088 Knoxville, TN 37939-9910. Funeral service Tuesday, 7:00 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Bennie Hackler, Artie Shaffer and Dennis Murphy officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM Wednesday for interment services. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
