Robert E. Oberlin

Robert E. Oberlin, age 84, of Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Sevier County Health Care Center in Sevierville. He was born on August 14, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Maybelle and Glenn G. Oberlin, deceased. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School in Toledo and attended the University of Toledo before graduating from the Harrington School of Interior Decorating in Chicago, Illinois. He was employed in a number of stores in Toledo and Chicago as an interior decorator before retiring in Beverly Shores, Indiana, and later moving to Sevierville where he lived for approximately the last 14 years. He was a founding member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sevierville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Charles and Jerry, and sister Molly. Survivors: Brother: Phillip Oberlin and wife Judy Several nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces Memorial service 11 AM Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Linsey Dettmer officiating. A lunch will follow the service at the church.
