Ruby Fugate Lewis

Lewis, Ruby Fugate, age 94, passed away, Monday, May 9, 2005. She was born October 31,1910 in Claiborne County, TN. She was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband; William George Lewis, her parents; Tilmon H. and Jennie Mason Fugate, brother; Wade H. Fugate. Survivors: daughters, Sally L. and husband William P. Newkirk, Betty Ann Lewis; grandchildren, Brian and wife Margie Newkirk, Timothy L. Newkirk, Sarah N. and husband, Glenn E. Ireland; great-grandchildren, Anna Pierce Ireland and Margaret C. Ireland; sister-in-law, Mae Fugate; nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Thursday for 11 AM graveside services, Rev. Clifford Amos officiating. Memorials may be made to the Holston United Methodist Home for Children, PO Box 188, Greeneville, TN 37744-0188. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.
