Dorothy ''Dot'' Lee McDaniel

Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Lee McDaniel, age 76 of Stuart, Virginia and formerly of Sevierville, died Monday, May 9, 2005. She was born in Stuart on October 29, 1928 to the late Vance Stedman and Hazel Williams Stedman. She attended Central Academy and Stuart High School in Stuart, VA. Mrs. McDaniel was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was retired from Fort Sanders-Sevier Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil W. McDaniel, and special aunt Mary Williams Martin. Survivors: Daughter: Judy Vaughn Shelton and husband James of Stuart, VA; Jeannie Howard and husband Steve of Sevierville Sons: Michael N. Vaughn and wife Catheryn of Stanleytown, VA; Gary L. Vaughn and wife Elaine of Stuart, VA Granddaughters: Shannie Jessup and husband Eric of Mount Airy, NC; Melody Shoemaker of Stuart, VA; and Brandy Brown of Sevierville Grandsons: Lynn Vaughn of Midlothian, VA; Michael Vaughn of Alexandria, VA; Johnnie Vaughn and friend Gretchen Fife of Goode, VA; Shane Howard of Sevierville Great-grandchildren: Chessie, Layla and Sadie Shoemaker, Samantha Vaughn, James Jessup Sister and brother-in-law: June and Joseph Hennage of Williamsburg, VA Dot loved and cared for her family, many friends and “old dogs and cats”. She thought of the elderly, and the less fortunate in life. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral service 3 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev.
