James David Cassell

CASSELL, JAMES DAVID ? 44, died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jimmy worked as a Journeyman Electrician and graduated from South-Young High School in 1980. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, was an avid fisherman and was dearly loved by his family and friends. His loving memory will be continued by his wife, Sharon (Dede) McCoy Cassell; sons, Jason David Cassell, Jon Cameron Johnson, and Quinton McCoy Johnson; parents, June and Jerry Swaney and Ray and Bessie Cassell; brother and sister-in law, Ken and Margaret Cassell; sister, Janie Boone; mother and father-in-law, James and Sharon McCoy; sister in-law, Kim and husband Randy Hill, sister in-law, Kristy McCoy; and a host of nephews and a niece. The family would like to send a special thanks to all of the wonderful people at both the UT Cancer Center and UT Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Berry Funeral Home located on Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet at 1 pm on Saturday for a graveside service and interment at Woodlawn Cemetery located on Woodlawn Pike with services conducted by Chaplin Anne Sprouse. Pallbearers will be Brady Benton, Alex Bryant, Ken Cassell, Danny Carroll, Randy Hill, Steve Hines, Chris Ingram and Jerry Minnich.
