Martha Blackshear Simpson

Simpson, Martha Blackshear went to heaven on August 30. She was a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church, a Reach to Recovery volunteer and a participant in Al-Anon. Born in 1927 in Watertown to Jesse and Arnelle Blackshear, she graduated from U.T. in 1948. She taught home economics and kindergarten. Martha?s legacy is love, service and beauty. She is survived by John Simpson, husband of 57 years, children Steve Simpson (Patty), Pat Capps (Lee), Shannon Teague ( Len), and Ann Miller (Marcus), twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren, her sister Mary Montgomery, cousin Kathy Jones, and dear childhood friend Maynelle Butts. Following a private interment, the family will receive friends on Friday, September 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. The Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 pm at the church. Memorial gifts may be made to Lake Forest Presbyterian Church, 714 Lake Forest Drive, Knoxville, TN 37920, or to the charity of one?s choice. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.
