Charles Edward Pickel

Charles Edward Pickel, age 88 of Pigeon Forge, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2005. He was a member of Henderson Chapel Baptist Church. A strong supporter of the Democratic Party, he served as Pigeon Forge City Election Official for a number of years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Pickel and sisters Ruby Gazley and Annalee Pickel. Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law: Rick and Susan Pickel Stepsons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Beverly Lashlee, Dee and Donna Lashlee Daughter and son-in-law: Peggy and Lynn Cole Stepdaughters and sons-in-law: Pam and Roy Ogle, Nancy and Michael King 15 Grandchildren 11 Great-grandchildren Several family members out-of-state Funeral service 7 PM Friday at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel with Rev. Wayne Ownby officiating. Interment 10 AM Saturday in Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Bill Maples officiating. Grandsons Chad Huskey, Nic Maples, Cory Maples, Bart Ogle, Josh Cole, Dave King, and Greg Metcalf will serve as pallbearers. Grandson James Pickel will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
