Carter, Charlta Blair ?age 71, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2005 at UT Memorial Center. She retired after working 20 years as a library assistant for the UT Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Library. Ms. Carter attended Emory and Henry College and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BA in English. She was a devoted member of Middlebrook United Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir and she performed with the ShannonHam Singers community choir. Survivors include daughters, Melinda L. Carter, DeSoto, Illinois; Sharon R. Carter-Falls, Atlanta, Georgia; and Kirsten E. Carter of Asheville, North Carolina; granddaughters, Ada Lee Falls, Freya Renee Falls, both of Atlanta, Georgia. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery on Monday for 10 AM graveside services. We encourage donations to the American Cancer Society or any Women?s Healthcare Organization. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
