Charter Garfield Bales

Charter Garfield Bales, age 78 of Gatlinburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2005. Mr. Bales was retired from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Service and was a United States Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific during World War II . He was preceded in death by his first wife Dixie L. Parton, brother Carl Bales and sister Mable “Maybell” Moore. Survivors: Wife: Ruth E. Bales Sons: James C. and Byron H. Bales Daughter: Cynthia D. Wright and husband Todd Wright Grandsons: Jesse T. Wright, Caleb C. Bales Brother: Earl Bales Sister: Grace Barker Brother-in-law and wife: Henry and Ruth Parton Sisters-in-law: Gertrude Bales, Mary Edna “Bill” Cicero Many nieces and nephews to include special nephew, Gerald Bales and wife Linda Funeral service 7 PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Watson officiating. Interment 1 PM Friday in Proffitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
