Richard Wesley Whisman

Richard W. Whisman, born November 20, 1935, died Sunday morning, April 24, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospice near his home in Sevierville, Tennessee. His survivors include Ruby, his wife of forty-eight years, a son David and his wife Lisa, and a daughter Michelle McDonald and her husband Calvin. He also leaves a brother David and his wife Teressa, a sister Judith Powell and her husband Daryll, and a niece Amy Nestor and her husband Andrew Snell. Mr. Whisman was manager of the Patton Avenue Kmart in Asheville, North Carolina from 1972 to 1979. He retired from Kmart in 1990 after a thirty year career, beginning as a stockboy in a Kresge store and retiring from the Kmart Headquarters as a buyer. His hobbies were trapshooting and woodworking of all kinds.
