Russell C. Hay, age 76, of Sevierville, died Sunday, April 10, 2005. He attended Blowing Cave Baptist Church. Mr. Hay retired from Tucker Freight Lines, Inc. after 37 years of employment as a truck driver. He garnered numerous safe driving awards during his career and was a member of Teamster Local Post 364. He remained active with the Teamster Retirees Club, Post 364 and was an honorary retired member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army as a PFC, U.S. Armor Division and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Number 1167. He was preceded in death by parents Clyde and Anna May Hay, brothers Phillip, Howard, Orville, and Roy Hay, and sisters Eris Newcomer and Ila May Wiltfong. Survivors: Wife: Trula L. (Ivey) Hay Daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Gary Lichkay, Patricia and Jeffrey Schnick Grandchildren: Jeffrey Schnick II, Stephanie Schnick, Catherine Wilder and husband Phillip, Jon Lichkay 3 great-grandchildren Brother: George Hay Sisters: Hazel Kulwicki and Myrtle Torma Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. George Dennison and Rev. DeWayne Welch officiating. Interment 11 AM Thursday at Burchfiel Memorial Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post 104. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
