Donald Collins

COLLINS, DONALD EUGENE, age 72 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2004 at St. Mary?s Hospice. He was a graduate of Halls High School and The University of Tennessee. Mr. Collins served four years in the U. S. Navy and resided in Asheville, NC for 34 years before moving back home to Knoxville nine years ago. His favorite hobbies were U.T. Football and fishing with his buddies. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Benfield of Rocky Mount., NC and brother J. D. Collins. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lois Noah Collins; son, Mark Andrew Collins and wife, Rola?nde of Niagara Falls, Ontario; sister, Mary Elizabeth (Candy) Tedder and husband, Rev. Paul Tedder of Bailey NC; brother, William J. (Bill) Benfield and wife Carissa of Rocky Mount, NC; brothers-in law and sisters-in law , Louise Dukes and husband Carl, Tena Helton, Carl Noah, Ray Noah, Troy Noah, Glenn Noah, Bobby Noah and wife Glenda and several nieces and nephews. Lois wants to give heartfelt thanks to her sisters and brothers for accepting and loving Don as a brother all these many years. The Collins family wishes to thank all our dear friends and the staff at St. Mary?s Hospice for their love, support and care during this extended illness. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 8 pm with Rev. Keith Weaver officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 am Wednesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for entombment services. Family will receive friends from 6 ? 8 Tuesday before the service.
