Covington, Betty Jean Headrick, age 74, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday September 11, 2004 at home. She was a member of Knoxville Missionary Temple. Preceded in death by husband, James B. Covington; son, James E. Covington; parents, Olaf and Lois Headrick; sister, Mary Helen Shook; brothers, Jerry J. Headrick and Thomas R. Headrick; son-in-law, Neil A. Reed; grandson, James R. (Jim Bob) McMahan. Survived by daughters, Anna Lasley of Knoxville and Mary Ruth Townsend of Lenoir City; sons, David Covington and Rick Covington both of Knoxville, and John Headrick of Lenoir City; nine brothers and two sisters; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren. Funeral service 8 PM Monday at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Gary Bingham and Rev. Tony Grayson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery for 1 PM graveside service Tuesday. Pallbearers are Bobby Glenn Davis, Steve Davis, Mohamed Alasry, Tony Headrick, Kyle Townsend, and Leon Shook. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday before the service at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Drive.
