BLACK, GEORGE W. age 83 of Knoxville, passed away on September 8, 2004 at St. Mary?s Hospital. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Halls. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and was retired, after 40 years of service as a Mechanical Craftsman, from Alcoa Aluminum. Preceded in death by grandson; David A. Hutton, II. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Black; son, Bob Black and wife Brenda, Rev. Joe Black; daughter, Becky Hutton and husband Dave; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday evening at 8 pm with Dr. Bruce Marston and Rev. John Justice officiating. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery 2 pm Sunday for graveside services. Full Military Honors provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers; Rob Black, David Black, Dave Hutton, Craig Dutton, Ken Oakes, and Brent Seymour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
