Hester Dykes

Dykes, Hester ?Louise?, age 86, formerly of South Knoxville, passed away September 4, 2004 at 4:50 PM at Hillcrest West. Former employee of Cherokee Mills. Longtime member of Gayland Heights Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband Carl R. Dykes; parents Charlie and Rachel Varner; sisters, Annie Humphrey and Martha Manning; brothers, Mark and Avie Varner. Daughters, Elizabeth Childress and husband Marshall of Knoxville; Vina Bohanan and husband James of Knoxville; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Nurses and staff of Hillcrest West and to Caris Hospice. Funeral service 8:00 PM Tuesday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tom Baez, Chaplain of Caris Hospice officiating. Family and friends will meet at Pollards Cemetery in Kodak at 1:00 PM Wednesday for interment services. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
