Zelma Gill Carpenter

Carpenter, Zelma Gill, age 91, of Knoxville, born August 25, 1913 in Anderson County, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Windwood Health Rehabilitation Center in Clinton. She was retired from the Knox County School System as the Business Office Manager at State Area Vocational Technical School. Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by parents, William L. and Hester Louise Monger Gill; brothers, William, Lillard, Vance and Raymond Gill; sister, Blanche Barber. Special nephew, Sonny and wife, Uldean Gill of Clinton, whom she lived with prior to entering Health and Rehab Center. Also survived by other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Wanda Nelson of Knoxville and to the Windwood Health Center staff. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery for graveside services at 11:00 AM Saturday with Rev. Ron Lawson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Friends may call at their convenience on Friday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
