Rev. Roy G. Ball

Reverend Roy Gladys Ball, 89, of Sevierville went to be with the Lord Thursday Oct. 28, 2004. Rev. Ball pastured several churches in the area. As a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church he held revivals and taught singing lessons in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Rev. Ball also ministered to the Cherokee at Wright Creek Baptist Church in Cherokee, NC. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Rev. Ball spent his life in servitude to God, country and his underprivileged brethren. He was preceded in death by his father Charlie Ball, mother Dessie Justus Ball, sisters Nina Breeden and Verna Thomas and loving wife of 55 years Mattie Lavern Ball. Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law: Dwight and Ella Ball Daughters and sons-in-law: Donna and Bobby Maner, Judy and Daniel Price Grandchildren and spouses: Rita Justus and husband Gene, Sheila Phillips and husband Jeff, special granddaughter Gerry Evans and husband Don, Barbara Herron and husband Eddie, Lisa Maner, Darren Hurst and wife Myra, Connie Hurst and wife Robin, Randy Ball and wife Pat, Edward Ball and wife Nancy, Tammy Sutton and husband Larry Great-grandchildren: Special great grandson Daniel Maner, Joshua Ogle, Camie Manning, Paige Stanton, Nathan, Cory, Bo, Nichole and Luckus Hurst, Jessie, Jason and Jordan Ball, Juston Sutton Step-great-grandchildren: Christopher Phillips, Steven Justus, John and Kurtis Watson, T.J. Howard, Ashley Morales, Ray Herron Sister: Cora Rolen Funeral service 2 PM Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church. Rev. Donald Rolen, Rev. Andy Ball and Rev. Ricky Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in Eledge Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville.
