Maj. Norman Graham Cottle

Maj. Norman Graham Cottle ?age 94, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Parkwest Hospital. He was born in Teachey, NC and had a long career in the United States Army. He came to Knoxville in 1949 to head the Army?s recruiting office and retired here in 1954 with the rank of Major. He then entered the real estate business, where he opened his own firm, which he headed for 35 years. He was preceded in death by wife, Marguerite, in 1988. They were members of Meridian Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jean-Pierre Granju of Knoxville; 2 grandsons and their families, Nicolas and Karen Granju of Indianapolis, IN and Christopher and Katie Granju of Knoxville; 5 great-grandchildren, Henry, Jane and Elliot Granju of Knoxville and Louis and Will Granju of Indianapolis; his brother, William Cottle of Waterville, ME, his sister-in-law, Pauline Cottle of Sevierville and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, November 1, 2004 at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
