R. Carroll King

King, R. Carroll, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Baptist Hospital after a short illness. He was a member of St. John?s Episcopal Cathedral and retired from Miller?s Department Store and Ye Olde Steak House. Preceded in death by friend and companion of 52 years, Ellis Mayes; grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. I.C. King; Mr. And Mrs. Jep Wolfe; parents Lucille and Sonny King; brothers Bunt and wife Helen King; Frank and wife Eva King; sisters Peggie King Miller and Sue King; nephews Sonny King Williams and King Irwin. Sister Sandra King Sanders and husband Jim; special niece and caregiver Patti Freels and husband Tom; other nieces and nephew: David King, Nancy Ayres, Cheryl Wilson, Connie Smith, Jami Gobea, Gina Ricketts, Suzanne Kidder, and Judy Rechenbach; special friends Margaret Seagraves, Madge Edmondson and Pat and Alden Givens. The family would like to thank the Baptist Hospice facility for all the loving care they provided, caregiver Stella Henry, and Dr. Sunil John. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery Tuesday at 11:00 AM for graveside services, The Rev. Canon, Dr. Richard J. Brown III of St. John?s Cathedral officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of East Tennessee, PO Box 401, Chattanooga, TN 37401-0401. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
