Elizabeth Inman Field (Betty) was born February 4, 1924. She passed on to the arms of her savior Sunday, October 3, 2004 at St. Mary?s Residential Hospice at the age of 80. She grew up in South Knoxville where she met and married her beloved husband of 63 years. Betty?s first love was her husband and daughters for which she lovingly and unselfishly cared for. She and her husband later moved to Port Richey, FL where she continued her selfless role in assisting in the teaching of mentally challenged children. After retirement, they moved back to Knoxville to be with their children and grandchildren. They were members of Arlington Baptist Church. Betty had a tremendous love of life and a motherly nature to everyone. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and watching and caring for her feathered friends. Betty was a friend to all and always had a sweet smile to share. Her husband, Gene Field; parents, William A. and Lulu Belle Inman; seven siblings; and two grandsons, Keith Herd and Brandon Williams, preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law The family will receive friends at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, 2300 W. Adair Dr., on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 from 6-8:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 8:00 p.m., with Reverend Thomas Gatton officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Thursday, October 7, at 11:00 a.m., for interment services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary?s Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike Knoxville, TN 37938
