G. William Brooks

G. William Brooks (Will) passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday afternoon at the age of 31. Will was born in Bethesda, MD and grew up in Fairfax, VA and San Antonio, TX. He earned a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Design at Texas A&M; University in 1994 and a Master of Imaging and Digital Arts at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1999. He was a voracious reader and accomplished artist, and he spent much of his free time painting and sculpting. Together with his partner Nick, Will owned and operated a small business, The Go-Kart Track, Inc. in White Marsh, MD, while also working as a regional artist and sales representative for Chanel. He had a devout love of music and spent time listening to, composing, and studying a wide variety of music. Will had the gentlest of hearts and felt a strong spiritual connection with nature. He found comfort in and celebrated the diversity of life on this planet. His compassion, patience, and love served as examples for others in his life. Will left behind his partner of five years, Nick Scarpulla, and his mother Carolyn N. Brooks. Other surviving family members include his older brother David and sister-in-law Elizabeth, their three children Jacqueline, William, and Charlie, and his younger brother Richard. Will's father, Col. Frank T. Brooks, preceded him in death. Family and friends will meet at Roane Memorial Gardens, 1400 N. Gateway Ave Rockwood, TN. Sunday for a 4 PM Graveside Service. Family will receive friends 1-2 PM Sunday at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy. Donations in Will's memory can be made to The Baum School of Art, 510 Linden St., Box 653, Allentown, PA 18105.
