Dorothy Covington Slaughter

Slaughter, Dorothy Covington ?beloved wife of 62 years of Elmer Slaughter, passed from this mortal existence in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 21, 2004. Dorothy was retired from teaching for many years at Mount Olive Elementary School in Knox County. She was a lover of nature, was an avid bird watcher and was passionate about the preservation of her beloved Smokies. Dorothy will be sorely missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Dorothy was the mother of three daughters, Dorothy (June), Jane and Kim; the grandmother of Curtis, Betsy (deceased), Andrew and Nathan Greer; great-grandmother of Christina and Isabelle Greer; and sister of Betty Jo Williams. Services will be private. Remembrances in lieu of flowers, may be made to the ?Friends of the Smokies?, 130 W. Bruce Street, Sevierville, Tennessee 37862, or the charity of one?s choice. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
