Nash, Leslie ?Shorty?, age 102, passed away Monday, November 15, 2004 at his daughter?s home. Deacon, choir member, and oldest member of South Knoxville Baptist Church. Retired from retail meat sales. Preceded in death by wife Mayme Knight Nash and second wife Ruth Sullenberger Nash. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Maxine and Newton Jones; Carolyn and Bill Howard; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Helen Nash; grandchildren and spouses: Jennifer and Stewart Asbury; Leslie and Bill Huff; Melissa and Jim Thornton; Timothy Howard; Danny and Candy Nash; Randy and Anne Nash; Billy and Debbie Nash; great-grandchildren: Jim Asbury, Rachael Lindsay, Lauren and Nathan Colmer, James and Justin Thornton, Keeley, Kassie, and Kerri Nash, Joshua and Caroline Nash, Nathan and Zachary Nash; special nephew Shirley Stephens and wife Mitzi; one niece, Edna Nash Burnette. Memorial service 5:00 PM Wednesday, South Knoxville Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Phipps officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of South Knoxville Baptist Church. Family will receive friends Wednesday following the service in the church sanctuary. Memorials may be made to South Knoxville Baptist Church, 522 Sevier Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday prior to the Memorial Service. Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway is serving the family.
