Charles William Gillespie

Gillespie, Charles William ?age 77, passed away on Tuesday, November 02, 2004 at Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was retired from the United States Postal Service. Mr. Gillespie was a ham radio operator K4EFS and an electronic technician and television repairman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II and in the Pacific Theatre. Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Mallie Gillespie and brother-in-law, William A. Heintz. He is survived by wife of 60 years, Christina Gillespie; sons, Charles William Gillespie, Jr., Michael Richard Gillespie; sister, Ruth Heintz; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Herbert Combs; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Thursday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral service to follow at 2 PM, Dr. George Hollander officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 306 Ogle Street, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
