Werter Hayden Graham

Graham, Werter Hayden, age 81, of South Knoxville, passed away Saturday July 31, 2004. Member of Central United Methodist Church. Retired postal worker from the passport office. He was a graduate of Knoxville Business College, member and Past Master of South Knoxville Lodge #769 for nearly 49 years, a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason, a York Rite Mason, member of the Royal Order of Scotland, a past President and Secretary of Knoxville Chapter of National Sojourners, a 50 year member of Disabled American Veteran and member of The Mended Heart, Chapter 24. Preceded in death by beloved son-in-law, Jack McMinn; son, Steven Graham; beloved mother-in-law, Bessie Smith and brother, Tom Graham. Survivors include wife, Hazel Catlett Graham; daughter, Teresa (Terri) Graham McMinn; sister-in-law, Nora Smellage and special brother-in-law, Jones Smellage; brothers-in-law, Wayne Catlett and wife, Colleen, Tom Catlett and wife, Jo, Ed Catlett and wife, Betty, Max Catlett; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Kate and E.C. Garrett, Jr. and daughters, Karen, Kim and ?adopted son?, James Swann, Sr The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with Masonic Service at 8 p.m. and funeral service to follow at Berry Chapel with Rev. John Sheldon officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery 11 a.m. Wednesday for interment services. Pallbearers will be: Chuck Catlett, James Swann, Sr., Joe Whittle, Chris Hurst, Robert D. Jett III and Donnie Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jones ?Buddy? Smellage, E.C.
