Harry Allen Sherwood

Harry Allen Sherwood, age 82 of Sevierville, passed away in peace at home at 11:30 PM, Wednesday, July 28, 2004, after an extended illness. He was a World War II veteran, U.S. Naval Aviator Officer. He graduated from the University of Alabama, and then went on to work for TVA for 33 years, retiring in January 1983. He volunteered at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center for 17 years. He was a devoted, loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his: Loving wife of 50 years: Madge Children: Cathy Millsap and son-in-law James, Sandra Baer and son-in-law Jerry, Nancy Sherwood, Richard Sherwood Grandchildren: Amanda Wice and Justin Caldwell Passage: “And just at the moment when someone at my side says, there he goes, “There, he is gone!” There are other eyes watching him coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, “Here he comes!” Thank you all for the calls, prayers, and cards from all of our family and friends. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturday, August 7, 2004 with memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 214 Cedar Street, Sevierville, TN. Rev. H.B. Hauk, and Rev. Scott Brady will officiate. The eulogy will be by Jim Galbraith. There will be a private graveside service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Thompson Cancer Center and/or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
