Arthur Byrd

Arthur Byrd, age 99 of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2004. He was the oldest member of First Baptist Church in Sevierville, where he joined in 1936. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Byrd; parents George and Caldonia Byrd; brothers Willie, Mack, Frank and Lewis Byrd; sisters Annie Jane Smith, Cloa Thomas; stepson V.H. Dixon. Survivors: Stepdaughter: Wilma Ward Step-grandchildren: James Lindsey, Betty Hurst, Judy Moore, David Dixon, Step-great-grandchildren: Karen Miller, Jeramie Hurst, Tabitha, Tiffany and LaTosha Roper Several nieces and nephews Funeral service 10 AM Friday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Parton and Rev. Jerry Hyder officiating. Interment will follow in Alder Branch Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
