Oliver Richard Ogle

Oliver Richard Ogle, age 97, of Sevierville, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004. Mr. Ogle was a longtime member of Banner Baptist Church where he served in many capacities, and he was instrumental in organizing and establishing Cartertown Baptist Church. One of the first employees of Blalock’s Lumber and Construction Company, he was a builder, craftsman, and avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents Alson and Nancy McCarter Ogle, wife Cecil Ownby Ogle, son Merle Ogle, daughter Vera Wilson, granddaughter Vickie Evon Ogle, great grandson Daniel Robert Ogle, Jr., brothers William Thomas, Isaac, Robert and Wiley Ogle, sister Mary Ownby, sons-in-law Ken Jackson, Ed Maples, and Craig Benson, and special cousin Winford Ogle. Jerry Ogle, Rev. Billy Ogle, Rev. Lowell Wilson, and Rev. David Wilson officiating. Larry Ogle will serve as eulogist. Family and friends will meet 10 AM Saturday at Proffitt Cemetery for graveside service and interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
