O.W. ''Cobb'' Clifton

O.W. “Cobb” Clifton, age 90, of West Palm Beach, Florida, died Friday, December 10, 2004. Cobb was raised in Marble City and lived at John Tarleton for several years. He attended Knoxville High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at Cherokee Textile Mills both in Knoxville and then in Sevierville for a total of 45 years. He was a Justice of the Peace and a Pigeon Forge City Judge for several years, and preformed many weddings in this capacity. Cobb was President of the National Managers Association, active charter member of the Pigeon Forge Lions Club and a longtime member of the Gatlinburg Elks Lodge where he held several offices including Exalted Ruler. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pigeon Forge where he sang in the choir. Cobb was a fisherman extraordinaire. He was the beloved husband of Katherine, father of Brenda, father-in-law of Charles Logan, and grandfather of Christopher R. Conner. He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Louise and V.K. Caldwell and Helen and Bill Atkins, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
