Thomas Andrew Lyon Sr.

Thomas A. Lyon, age 53, of Seymour, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a faithful member of Branville Baptist Church. He was well known in the South Knoxville business community as the owner of Tom’s Automotive. His passion was drag racing his 1964 Pontiac GTO. He drag-raced across the Southeastern United States. He has been featured on ESPN, in many newspapers and in various magazines. Tom was a devoted husband to his wife Sharon of thirty-three years and was a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by parents Bill and Agnes Lyon. Survivors: Wife: Sharon Son and daughter-in law: Thomas A. Lyon, Jr. and Michelle Daughter and son-in-law: Kristi and Shay Loveday Grandchildren: Dillon, Devin, Dalton and Tasheena Lyon, Megan and Josh Loveday Brothers and sisters-in-law: Dicky and Kathy Lyon, James (Buster) Lyon, Jacky and Cheryl Lyon, Bobby and Theresa Lyon, Paul and Missy Lyon, Danny and Loretta Lyon Sisters and brothers-in-law: Linda Loveday, Brenda and Jack Roberts Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ken and Shirley Burnette, Gary Burnette Several nieces, nephews and many very special friends Funeral services 7 PM Thursday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. Charles Parker of Branville Baptist Church and Rev. Chris Cupp of Central Point Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends will meet 2 PM Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for graveside service and interment. Pallbearers will be Dicky Lyon, James Lyon, Jacky Lyon, Bobby Lyon, Ken Burnette, and Gary Burnette. Danny Lyon and Paul Lyon will be honorary pallbearers.
