John E. Waddell

Waddell, John E., age 78, of South Knoxville, went home with Jesus Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004. Longtime member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Founder and owner of Waddell Motors, Incorporated. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army, and a Mason. Preceded in death by parents, John A. and Lois Waddell; daughter, Terry W. Williams. Much loved and loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy Wells Waddell; daughter and son-in-law P. Susan and Forrest Orr; son, Douglas E. Waddell; grandchildren, Paula R. and husband, Leonard Bradford; Pamela S. and husband, Joey Bailey; Melissa W. and husband, Michael Moore; Nicholas L. Orr; Kimberly A. Waddell; great-grandchildren, P. Diane and Kelly E. Bradford; D. Scott and Andrew Tyler Bailey; John Patrick and Peyton L. Moore; many friends business associates and employees, past and present of Waddell Motors. The family wishes to express special thanks to Fred Jones and Jim Miller. Funeral service 8:00 PM Tuesday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Hollie Miller, Rev. Charlie McNutt and Rev. Scott Erwin officiating. Family and friends will meet for interment services at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Davis, Buford Smith, Ralph Hawkins, Ted Sluder and Louis Gilbert. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Sevier Heights Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
