Carl Lee Maples

Carl Lee Maples, age 78, of Knoxville, a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was called home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Baptist Hospital. He was a charter member of Burnetts Creek Baptist Church and helped establish the church more than 50 years ago. During those years, he served as a deacon and led the church in music. He is survived by: His devoted wife of 56 years: Gladys Maples Children: Brenda Clapp, Randal Maples, Calvin (Emily) Maples, and Patsy (Garry) Ogle Eight grandchildren Two great-grandchildren Sister: Wilma Maples Funeral service 7PM Friday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Miller and Rev. Joe Lewis officiating. Interment 2PM Saturday in Huskey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
