Allen, Ruth Marie Byrd, age 62, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 31, 2003 at UT Hospital. Member of Fort Hill Baptist Church. Retired from Watson?s Department Store with 35 years service. Preceded in death by sister, Carol Ann Byrd; brother Hal Edward Byrd. Husband Clyde Allen; mother and father A.C. and Edith Byrd; step-son Gene Allen; step-daughter Joyce Collins; brothers Steve and Alan Byrd; nieces Stephanie, Colleen and Lee Ann; nephew, Andrew; several aunts and uncles. Family and friends will meet at Bookwalter Cemetery at 1:00 PM Monday for graveside services. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
