William Thompson

Thompson, William ?Bill?, age 77, of South Knoxville, passed away at home on Sunday, November 30, 2003. He was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church. He was an avid sportsman, baseball player, and coached minor league baseball in years past in the Knoxville area. Preceded in death by brother, Elmer; sisters, Annie Maples and Mary Nell Hale. Wife, Lillian Thompson; sons, Wayne and Ricky Thompson; daughter, Charlotte Thompson; several nieces and nephews; special relatives and friends, James and Joyce Hale; David Maples; Polly, Patsy, Spookie, Gary Thompson, Linda Hale, Johnny and Bonnie Pierce and Mike Creswell. Funeral service 1:00 PM Thursday, New Hopewell Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
