George Washington Walker

Walker, George Washington, age 79, of Rockford, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Porter High School and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Retired from General Motors, Fisher Body of Willow Springs, Illinois with 28 years of service. Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by parents, Barney and Fannie Mae Walker; several brothers and sisters. Beloved wife of 48 years, Patsy Sue Thompson Walker; sons, Michael Walker, Alan Walker, and Warren Walker; daughters, Tammie Walker and Anna Williams; grandchildren, Travis and Taylor Williams; brothers, Ira (Wendy), Calvin, Charlie, and Buck Walker; many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Funeral service will be held 8:00 PM on Saturday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. George Ott, Jr. officiating. Family and friends will meet at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside services at 2:00 PM on Sunday. Full military honors will be provided by Volunteer State Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
