James G. (Jay) Helmboldt

Helmboldt, James G. (Jay), age 73, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2003. He was a Christian. Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He celebrated his 16th birthday aboard a military ship enroute to combat. He was preceded in death by twin children, Jerry Glenn and Sherry Lynn Helmboldt; father, Grover Helmboldt; and brother, Jack Helmboldt. Loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Frances Helmboldt; daughter, Donna Haun and husband, Pat; sons, Mark Sr., Kirk, Dale, and Scott Helmboldt; five granchildren; six great-grandchildren; mother, Hazel Haun; brothers, Don Helmboldt and Buddy Haun; sister, Sandra Brooks; special friend, Rev. Jim Kitts; and many other relatives and friends. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery for graveside service with Rev. Jim Kitts and Rev. Robert Branch officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to U.T. Hospice 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Suite 102, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
