J.R. BROOKS

BROOKS, J.R., age 68, of North Knoxville, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2003 at home. He was a member of Mascot United Methodist Church. Retired from T.E.C. America Cash Register Co. He was a veteran of U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Preceded in death by parents, Jess and Nellie Brooks; brothers, Ray Otis and Wayne Brooks. Survived by wife, Betty Raley Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, Jill Brooks Rice and Rick Rice of Atlanta, Ga.; grandson, Brooks Kyle Rice; sister-in-law, Mary Brooks; several nieces and nephews. Graveside service l P.M. Sunday at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers members of Three Ridges Senior Golf League and Orion Ambrister, Jack Monroe, H. E. Leach. Rev. Harry Rehagen officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald?s House, 1705 Clinch Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916 or to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 P.M.
