Gary W. Carlisle, Sr.

Carlisle, Gary W. Sr., age 51, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Baptist Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Operation Desert Storm and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also President of UNITE Union Local 906 2000-2001. Preceded in death by father John Hillary Carlisle; son Bryan Wayne Carlisle. Wife Wanda Carlisle; daughter Angela and husband Michael Ray Marks; sons Gary Wayne Carlisle, Jr. and John H. Carlisle II; grandchildren Debra and Kassi Marks; mother Minnie Bell Abbott; brothers: William Lee Carlisle, Charles E. Carlisle, and Raymond Abbott; sisters: Bettye L. Abbott and Jean Knight. Funeral service 10:00 AM Wednesday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Steve Dawson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland South Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Nora's Home 910 Madison Street Memphis, TN. Family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
