Rev. Lawrence Otis Laney

Rev. Lawrence O. Laney, age 80 of Cosby went to be with our Lord at 4:30AM Sunday February 2, 2003 at James H. Quillen Veterans Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jessie Laney, brothers, Mynard, Hillie, and Charles Laney, sister Hazel McCarter. Survivors: Daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Troy Proffitt, of Newport Kathy and Jim Frye of Sevierville Darlene and George McGahee of Augusta,GA Gwen Loveday, of Sevierville Glenda Maples of Sevierville Grandchildren: Billy and wife Gena Amanda and husband Kenny Rick and wife Rachel Larry and wife Dawn Bryan and wife Tabitha Mellisa Jamie and wife Angel Karrie Billy and wife Amanda Karen and husband Rick Christy 15 Great Grandchildren Several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ Sister: Ola Dumont, of New Orleans, LA Funeral service 2PM Tuesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Carr and Rev. Ed Parton officiating. Interment will follow in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
