James Nelson Stoffle

James Nelson Stoffle, age 56 of Sevierville went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2003 after losing a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, papaw and brother. He was a member of First Red Bank Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim was preceded in death by his father Melvin Eugene Stoffle, Sr. and infant daughter Tonya Renee Stoffle. Survivors include: His faithful and loving wife: Linda Stoffle, the love of Jim’s life Mother: Mae Stoffle Daughter and son-in-law: Sabrina and Dwayne Harrell Son and daughter-in-law: Roger and Stacy McCarter Precious grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Kelly Sutton, Megan and Regan McCarter, Alan Harrell Brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry and Sharon Stoffle of Sevierville, Melvin and Joyce Stoffle of Georgia Sister and brother-in-law: Johnnie and Jimmy Whitford of North Carolina Many beloved relatives, special friends and church family. Funeral service 7 PM Sunday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with family pastor and friend Rev. Bill Merritt officiating. Special singing by Ruby McElhaney. Dennis Parton, a friend of the family will bring the eulogy. Family and friends will leave Atchley Funeral Home at 10:30 AM Monday for procession to Boyd’s Creek Cemetery for an 11 AM graveside service and interment. Military honors provided by American Legion Post # 104. Pallbearers will be Roger McCarter, Dwayne Harrell, Jerry and Melvin Stoffle, Kent Robert, Jimmy Whitford, Jerry Stoffle, Jr. and Dale England.
