Mary Lee Leonard Goddard

Goddard, Mary Lee Leonard, age 95, resident of Knox County for 76 years, passed away August 20, 2003 at Fort Sanders Hospital. She was of the Methodist Faith and an active member of the Republican party of South Knox County for several years at Bonny Kate 9th district. Retired from Tennessee School for the Deaf as head cook. Preceded in death by Husband, G.R. (Gib) Goddard; son, Fred H. Goddard; parents, William A. Leonard and Verdie Short Leonard; brother, Arnold Leonard; sisters, Clara Mae Dunn and Goldie Goddard, daughters-in-law, Aileen Goddard and Betty Goddard. ?A loving Mother that has gone to be with the Lord.? Sons and daughters-in-law: Herman and Judy Goddard, G.R. and Imogene Goddard, Rusty and Barbara Goddard, Sanford and Vickie Goddard; daughters and sons-in-law: Julia and Delmer Gibson, Gracie and Edgar Bruner, Hazel and Jack Smith, Gladys and Corbin Johnson; daughter-in-law: Brenda Goddard; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Billie Jean Jones; brother: Theodore Leonard and sister-in-law: Margie Leonard. Funeral 7:30 PM Friday, Sevier Heights Baptist Church, 3232 Alcoa Highway, Dick Smelcer officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Saturday, New Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, Tipton Station Road. Pallbearers will be grandsons, James and Aaron Gibson, Butch and Greg Goddard, Allen, Marvin and Robert Bruner, Scott and Bryan Smith, Steve and Gib Goddard, Chris, Andy and Rus Goddard, Ernie Brewster and Sandy Goddard.
